Privacy Policy — notyetzero

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what personal information notyetzero collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written in plain English because that is how it should be. If you have any questions, please get in touch at rebecca@notyetzero.com.

Who we are

notyetzero is operated by Rebecca Stacey, based in the UK. For the purposes of data protection law, Rebecca Stacey is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

What information we collect

We collect personal information in two ways:

When you sign up to our mailing list

  • Your name (if you provide it)
  • Your email address
  • The date you signed up

When you contact us

  • Your name and email address
  • The content of your message

Automatically, when you visit the site

  • Standard website analytics data (pages visited, time on site, device type) via WordPress and any analytics tools in use
  • Cookie data — see our cookie information below

Why we collect it and our legal basis

Mailing list — We collect your email address to send you updates when new blog posts are published, and occasional information about our services. The legal basis is consent — you sign up voluntarily and can unsubscribe at any time.

Contact enquiries — We use your name and email to respond to your message and, where relevant, to follow up about our services. The legal basis is legitimate interests — responding to people who contact us directly.

Website analytics — We use anonymised data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. The legal basis is legitimate interests.

How we use your information

  • To send you email updates you have signed up for
  • To respond to your enquiries
  • To improve the website and its content
  • We will never sell your data to third parties
  • We will never share your data with third parties for marketing purposes

Who we share data with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate notyetzero:

  • EcoSend — our email marketing platform, used to manage the mailing list and send broadcasts. EcoSend is GDPR compliant and based in the UK. See their privacy policy at ecosend.io/privacy
  • WordPress / Superb Addons — our website platform and hosting. Standard website data is processed as part of running the site
  • Buy Me a Coffee — if you choose to make a voluntary contribution, your payment is processed by Buy Me a Coffee. We receive only the amount donated and your name if you provide it. See their privacy policy at buymeacoffee.com/privacy-policy

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

How long we keep your data

  • Mailing list — until you unsubscribe, or if you have not engaged with emails for an extended period, at which point we will remove inactive contacts
  • Contact enquiries — we keep email correspondence for as long as it is relevant to an ongoing relationship, and delete it when no longer needed
  • Analytics data — anonymised and aggregated; no individual retention period applies

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (“the right to be forgotten”)
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us directly

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at rebecca@notyetzero.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Cookies

This website uses cookies — small files stored on your device that help the site function and allow us to understand how it is used. These include:

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the site to work (e.g. remembering your cookie preferences)
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand visitor behaviour in aggregate, anonymised form
  • Third-party cookies — set by services such as EcoSend pop-up forms embedded on the site

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site function.
